Thanks so much to everyone who posted a job this past week. Erin Scholze, with Dreamspider Publicity and Events won the $50 gift card. She posted a job in the volunteer category, looking for volunteers for the upcoming 8th Annual Lexington Ave Arts and Fun Festival on September 6th, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.

LAAFF is the annual FREE end-of-summer celebration of Asheville's artistic and musical communities. Three blocks of N. Lexington Ave in downtown Asheville will be brimming with all local art, food, beer, music, street performers, and random acts of creativity on Sunday, September 6th from 11am - 9pm between College Street and the I 240 overpass.

LAAFF has become the showcase event for all types of talent on multiple stages and performance areas including rock and roll, indie pop, funk, folk, ragtime, reggae, world beats, singer-songwriters, bluegrass, old time, African drummers, clowns, magicians, contortionists, belly dancers, modern dancers, vaudeville actors, break dancers, hula hoopers, and more. LAAFF has grown over the years to become known as Asheville's largest Street festival with upwards of 12,000 in attendance.

LAAFF relies on community support to ensure our success each year. LAAFF is a volunteer driven event put on by and for the community. Your tax-deductible contribution ensures the ongoing successes of this much anticipated yearly Asheville celebration.

Rockin River Fest

Thanks so much to all of you who have helped to spread the word of Jobbitz.com. Thank you "job posters" for posting your "odd" jobs and thank you "jobbers" for helping out your neighbors by responding to their job postings. Can you believe that in the first eight weeks of Jobbitz.com, our membership has grown from 0 to 1500 account holders? The majority of our members are looking for work; thus, the purpose of this e-mail is to get more folks to POST an odd job (or two or three or four . . .) and to tell all of your friends, family, colleagues and neighbors to post an odd job, too.

Due to the combined efforts of job posters and jobbers, I estimate between $12,000 to $17,000 has exchanged hands so far. Let's please keep this grassroots stimulus package going. As an incentive to post your help-wanted needs, I am offering the following:
